Valentino Rossi gave an interview to the English channel BT to better enlighten us behind the scenes of his career.

I see all these fans around the world and I think it's something essential. It is the most important. I consider myself a normal person so I don't understand why some fans cry as soon as they see me."
A look at his consideration which leads him to this conclusion:

And his rivals? He has known them through the seasons, and through several generations: “Who gave me the most trouble?” All ! The difference is that with Biaggi or Gibernau, I was the newcomer. With Stoner Márquez, or Lorenzo, it’s me who is the target this time. Which changes a lot. Everyone has incredible talent, I can't say who is the toughest to fight because they are the most talented riders of the last ten years in motorcycling.
However… “But with Biaggi it was special because we were both Italian, as it is special with Lorenzo because we both have the same bike.”
Hence the imperative need to finish the championship ahead of him, even for a second place overall. Because the title is for Márquez: “I made too many mistakes this year”
