This 2017 MotoGP season has been exciting. Certainly, there were fewer different winners than last year, but the championship controls changed hands several times and the suspense for winning the title continued until the last meeting in Valencia. A beautiful campaign enhanced by a nice surprise: that of Andrea Dovizioso whose talent came to light. An event which obviously did not escape Valentino Rossi.
Vale, on the other hand, did not have an unforgettable year. Made of injuries and a Yamaha whose evolution went from Charybdis to Scylla, it gave the nine-time winner time to observe the blossoming of his compatriot at the Ducati. A late but solid revelation, marked by six victories, as many as Marc Márquez ultimately sacred.
« I'm good with Dovi. I respect him, he respects me, he is a clean driver on the track and who is aggressive but never too much. He is a worthy adversary. He didn't win for a long time. This season, I told him “it took you a while, but now you’ve got a taste for it.” He's always been a hard worker, a real talent, so his time has come. This year has been full of surprises and the first has been the competitiveness of Dovizioso ».
As he has acquired a taste for leading roles, there is no doubt that he will want to do it again in 2018. Cohabitation with Lorenzo promises to be exciting at Ducati…
