On the eve of the first races of the world championship in Qatar, it seems that Yamaha still has some tasks to attend to, starting with the Movistar MotoGP team which is still looking for a way to at least match the level of performance of Johann Zarco.

The official team of the three tuning forks seems to suffer from the same difficulties encountered during the last season. The blue M1s put too much strain on their tires and are not efficient enough when exiting corners or opening the throttle. The two official drivers complain. Maverick Vinales seems to have lost the North with its chassis while Valentino Rossi, calmer, seems to attribute the origin of all evils to electronics.

During recent testing in Qatar, with a live example in front of it, #46 did everything possible to exploit this, but is still not fully satisfied with the result. Hence, according to an article by Massimiliano Garavini for the site Pu24.it, a requirement made by Valentino Rossi for the renewal of his contract: according to the Italian journalist, the inclusion in the team of an electronics specialist Magneti-Marelli could even be a sine qua non condition.

Is this the real reason? Maybe in part...

Let us simply note that the renewal of the Italian champion for 2017 and 2018 was then as fast as lightning, pulling the rug out from under the feet of the entire paddock, starting with Jorge Lorenzo itself.

At the moment, it's quite the opposite, despite declarations of good intentions from the person concerned who says he wants to come back for 2 years and not join a MotoGP team at least until then.

Faced with all this, Yamaha displays a confidence which nevertheless probably hides some disagreement.
