This morning in Madrid, the Repsol Honda Team presents the 213 RC2023V, the machine with which the 2020 world champion with Suzuki, Joan Mir, and newcomer Luca Marini will compete.

After the recent disappointing seasons in MotoGP, the Japanese team has undertaken a revolution at both the bike and the team level, seeking to take advantage of the concessions that currently allow them to compete in the “D” category. They now benefit from the opportunity to test with the regular drivers, allowing them to develop the engine and aerodynamics, as well as experiment with several types of tires during testing.

During the first IRTA 2024 test in Sepang, Joan mir got closer to the leaders, improving his times by more than a second compared to the previous year's tests also carried out in Malaysia. Valuable information for development also arrived from Luca marini.

You can follow the event via live streaming on this page.

Tetsuhiro Kuwata , director of HRC, was the first to speak: “ Joan is in his second year with us and will be able to continue to progress, he has already shown his potential and we want to give him what he needs. Luca joined us recently, he is young and with many ambitions. We have already seen his focus on work and I think he will help us a lot in the development of our project ."

Since 1995, Repsol is the main sponsor of the factory team Honda. More recently, the contract was also linked to Marc Marquez. Due to his departure, Repsol renegotiated and reduced the volume of sponsorships. The contract is valid until the end of 2024. The lettering Repsol was moved under the fairing, while Honda reads in large letters on the side. Additionally, the blue and red color elements of the HRC are highlighted in the design. We don't see much orange anymore.

“Honda” lettering and lots of blue dominate the 2024 look
