Valentino Rossi saw himself on his 200th podium three laps from the goal of a breathtaking Austrian Grand Prix, but with a few turns in sight of the checkered flag, he found himself only eighth. That being said, the Doctor appreciated it and even more so since he was finally able to do a real victory lap in front of the fans and his people. And that was worth all the podiums in the world…

With its Yamaha in slick on a wet track, Valentino Rossi had a good time with his brother and Iker Lecuona in an epilogue to Austrian Grand Prix who will be remembered. And also in the memories of Vale who took a real victory lap to pay tribute to the yellow public. He was delighted to see a circuit full of fans like we hadn't seen in a long time.

Back in the pits, number 46 then explained with a smile to a member of the Team Petronas these last emotional turns: “ joking aside, there were five or six laps left to go, I said I would try. And it was the right choice but it was a little lacking, because the problem was in the last two laps where it really started to rain, otherwise, until then there were only a few turns where it was necessary to do Be careful but it was going very well. So I could also have gotten on the podium, but after the last lap it was raining a lot. But hey it was nice come on ».

Rossi: “When I saw P3 I almost fell in love”

The Sky interviewer then asks Red what he felt in those moments as he looked at the podium: “ I was pretty calm, I was doing well, I felt good with the bike. When I went through the straight, because I didn't understand where I was and what position I was in in the race, I read P3, and then I almost crashed.  I said, “Oh my God! » But come on it was great, it was a great emotion to see the circuit like that, with the fans, the stands really full, I thank everyone and I hope to be able to do some good races before the end ».

For Valentino, this would have been the 200th podium: many hope that the magic will still work before retiring from competition. However, even so Red had fun.
