Initially scheduled for Tuesday, it was undoubtedly the pessimistic weather conditions on the Italian Riviera which brought forward the running of Valentino Rossi in Misano to this Monday at the end of the day.

According to the official press release published by the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, this was, however, not enough to give the Italian rider enough time before the rain occurred, and this prevented definitive conclusions from being drawn regarding the assessment of his physical condition.

After an enduro accident on August 31, Valentino Rossi has been working diligently on his recovery from a double fracture of his right leg. Today, the nine-time World Champion tested his physical level and successfully completed a few laps of the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on a YZF-R1M, before the rain disrupted this test.

As today's session was shortened due to the change in weather, Rossi's fitness assessment was inconclusive. He will decide on Wednesday evening, September 20, whether he will try to participate in this weekend's Gran Premio Movistar in Aragon. »
