Valentino Rossi can now put on his new Petronas clothes...

We are in 2021 so the new colors chosen by certain pilots are now authorized to be worn. Valentino Rossi is one of them and he wasted no time in showing himself under the Petronas label. The Doctor is now a Yamaha satellite rider, and no longer a member of the Iwata brand's factory. But he will have the last M1 at his disposal, within a structure which won six of the manufacturer's seven victories in tuning forks in 2020...

Valentino Rossi therefore a priori has all the weapons to reach the podium which it lacks to pass the milestone of 200. He is also missing a crown to reach ten, but we are not there yet, especially since his teammate will be Franco Morbidelli, the reigning vice-world champion.

Over 41 years, Vale is therefore still in the game. With the exception of the two-year interlude at Ducati in 2011 and 2012 he is within the walls of the factory team Yamaha since 2004. He celebrated four of his nine world titles and 56 of his 115 GP victories there on the M1.

Valentino Rossi shows off while waiting for Malaysia

In the video, the Doctor says: “ Have a good year. I am very happy to be part of Petronas Yamaha SRT for 2021. I have seen what the team has achieved over the last two years. So I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can do together. I can't wait to work with the team and hit the track “, underlined the nine-time world champion.

At Petronas, we hope to better mark the occasion Sepang when the February test dates arrive. Hoping that Covid-19 does not spoil the party by preventing the paddock MotoGP to reach and settle in Malaysia…
