Maverick Viñales and Aprilia conclude a positive first day of testing in Misano. Ducati, KTM, Honda and Morbidelli are also in action.

“Official” debut for the new Maverick Viñales/Aprilia pair. An intense first day on the Misano circuit ended with a big smile from the Spanish driver. “Good feelings, now I want more”, he wrote on his social profiles, commenting on Tuesday's test session on the Italian circuit. For him 56 laps, all in the morning (here the photos), and a 1'33.0 as the best time of the day. This is roughly the average pace of the 2020 Emilia Romagna MotoGP… For comparison, let's also recall the track records: A 1'32.319 in the race (Bagnaia) and a 1'31.077 as an absolute record (by Viñales him -even).

The rain arrived in the afternoon, slowing down the work, but in no way spoiling the atmosphere in the Noale factory. There were also some practice starts earlier in the day, to test the holeshot device fitted to the Aprilia RS-GP. In short, the pilot is pumped up, as evidenced by the numerous social posts on the subject.

But it wasn't just him in Misano: There were also the Reds with Pirro (on the Desmosedici), Bagnaia, Zarco and Marini (on road Ducatis), as well as the KTMs of Pedrosa and Kallio (engaged in aerodynamic tests), and Stefan Bradl's Honda. More Franco Morbidelli convalescing on an R1! Tomorrow, the action continues, like today from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m.
