For Ducati, it took 15 years to obtain a new MotoGP title and 11 years for the WorldSBK title. Patience and efforts rewarded by a historic double that only Honda (in 1997 and 2002) and Yamaha (in 2009 and 2021) had been able to record on the shelves until now.

The celebration in Bologna, in the suburbs of which the Borgo Panigale factory is located, promises to be grandiose and has even already been the subject of a press conference presentation by the big boss, Claudio Domenicali, in the splendid setting of Palazzo D'Accursio, one of the most beautiful places in Piazza Maggiore as well as the seat of the municipality of Bologna.

Called “Campioni in Piazza²”, the festival will take place on December 15 from 20:00 p.m. to 22:30 p.m. in Piazza Maggiore, and will be free and open to all enthusiasts.

It will firstly involve the undisputed stars of the 2022 season, Francis Bagnaia et Alvaro Bautista. On stage, there will also be the “backstage” figures that fans got to know live from the Ducati boxes: Luigi Dall'Igna, Paolo Ciabatti, Davide Tardozzi et Seraphim Foti.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati: “ After the double victory in the MotoGP and Superbike championships, we could only celebrate in style with an event open to all fans. Campioni in Piazza² will above all be a moment of celebration and sharing. The decision to organize the event in Bologna came very naturally, it is the city where Ducati was born and the link with the region is a great added value for us. We are sure that all citizens of Bologna, and beyond, will want to join us in celebrating the goals achieved by a company that has its roots here but is a proud ambassador of Made in Italy around the world. »

Matthew Lepore, mayor of Bologna: “ Celebrating with Ducati the titles won in MotoGP and World Superbike in Piazza Maggiore is very important for Bologna. Our city will once again be in the spotlight for an event that combines a world-renowned brand with music and entertainment. This is why we want to celebrate together these important milestones achieved by Ducati.”

Barbara Pedrotti, journalist, television presenter and great motorsport enthusiast, will present and interview personalities from the world of Ducati Corse, as well as Guido Meda , the memorable voice who, race after race, recounted the success of Francis Bagnaia in MotoGP on Italian television. The program will also not lack moments of entertainment, with jokes from the passionate Romagnol and Ducatist Giuseppe Giacobazzi . The actor and voice actor Luca Ward will accompany participants on a journey through the history of Ducati. The musical entertainment will be concocted by the DJ set by Fresco , a DJ and record producer known for his collaborations with Italian singer Jovanotti, later moving on to the Bologna-born musician's guitar notes Federico Poggipollini . The evening will end with a concert of J-Ax ; the Italian rapper, who has just announced his participation in the 2023 SanRemo Festival, will have the audience dancing to a medley of his most famous songs.

Ducati has also prepared a surprise for the most passionate Ducatists, which will be revealed directly from the stage of Piazza Maggiore, before a spectacular fireworks display to close the show…

For anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the Ducati world, on the day of the party the tours of the Borgo Panigale factory will be intensified, with sessions starting every 15 minutes between 9:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and between 13:45 p.m. and 16:00 p.m. To guarantee a place for the tour at the desired time, it is recommended to reserve and purchase the ticket online at https://tickets.ducati.com/ . The Ducati Museum will be open as usual from 9:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m.

At the moment we have no information regarding a possible streaming broadcast of the party that will color Bologna's Piazza Maggiore red.
