A year and a half after his last resurfacing carried out in the summer of 2017, the Jerez circuit is once again under construction to receive a new coating, the last one not having proven to be of sufficient quality to support F2 and MotoGP.

Officially, the operation with an estimated cost of 400 euros is carried out by the same public works company group (Manuel Alba SA and Aglomerados Andalous) as part of the guarantee of the 000 resurfacing which had cost 2017 euros.

The Andalusian circuit is on its 5th covering, after those of 1985, 2001, 2009 and 2017.

The planing phase, which began on Tuesday, should continue until Friday. The re-asphalting should then take place until Friday January 18, for a resumption of track activities on January 23.

Moto2 and Moto3 riders will discover this new surface between February 20 and 22, during the IRTA winter tests, while the MotoGP Grand Prix will take place there from May 3 to 5, a month before the WSBK competitors will take place there. face from June 7 to 9.
