Yamaha is apparently doing everything possible to organize its workforce for 2022. Theoretically, it is missing two riders out of the four listed. Some are called Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli and, in view of the latest events, the latter should once again be the teammate of the first named, but in the official colors this time, due to the announced departure of Viñales. Which leaves us with two vacancies at Petronas, which is expected to lose Valentino Rossi. Nothing is less simple than finding this pair for two beautiful M1s in a team which won six races in 2020. The search is being done on the WSBK side. With a new name among the potential candidates: Jonathan Rea…
To be honest, we were wondering when the name of the multiple world champion WSBK was finally going to come on the table, in the prospecting launched by Yamaha to feed its satellite team in MotoGP. Because when reading the winners of Jonathan Rhea, it seems more rational that it attracts attention than a Toprak Razgatlioglu, however promising it may be, or that a Garrett gerloff, certainly voluntary and freelancing in Grand Prix, but with potential to be explored.

What interest does Jonathan Rea have?
The Northern Irishman is in fact the six-time world champion in the discipline and, in 2012, he replaced a time Stoner on Honda in MotoGP, a period where he was solid at Misano and Aragon. However, he never had the right offer to move from WSBK to the premier category of the world championship. But according to Sky Sport MotoGP, that moment would have arrived.
A possibility to be taken with a grain of salt, because Sale go on his 35 years old, which does not quite make him a hopeful in the making, or the typical profile sought by Petronas. By the way, he is the same age as a Dovizioso also available. And Sale is an official Kawasaki who dominates his environment and his subject with a formal contract which takes him until 2022. So why would he call everything into question for a project rejected by Razgatlioglu asked and who signed for two years with Yamaha in WSBK? By the way, gerloff also said that he would not sign with his eyes closed if he was offered a contract… We see, Yamaha et Petronas did not come out of the sand.
