Lynn Jarvis

Lin Jarvis is experiencing an invigorating winter and it is a real blessing for those who still say to themselves “ tired » by the weight of its load at Yamaha. It seems that this drivers' world title brought back by Fabio Quartararo within the Iwata factory, which had not seen any color since 2015, is a reprieve for the Englishman, who speaks openly about his upcoming retirement. He will still have to return the house to the tuning forks in order when that time comes, and that can be decided now with the transfer market well and truly already open. He will have a lot to do to keep his French pilot. But he has already gained the loyalty of one of his riders, and that’s always a given…

At Yamaha , the major negotiations for after 2022 are underway but we are happy to have already completed a file. It was certainly not the most complicated, but it still had to be ensured. So, Cal Crutchlow will continue to be associated with the brand in 2022 as a test driver. The Briton has already agreed with the Japanese factory the terms of his agreement for next year.

Cal Crutchlow continue with Yamaha as a test pilot for at least one more year. This has been confirmed by the Japanese factory, which has already carried out some tests with the former LCR Honda rider, who has now entered active retirement, replacing Jorge Lorenzo. Like the latter, Crutchlow saw its testing program altered by restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, he was able to be present in several tests, most of them private. The last ones took place at the Jerez Circuit, before the drivers MotoGP are not competing for the last run of the vintage. It will be recalled that he also participated in four races in 2021, replacing the injured Franco Morbidelli.

Lin Jarvis: “ Cal Crutchlow will stay with us in the future«

Nothing has been signed yet, but Yamaha's commitment to Cal Crutchlow is clear. “ I can say yes, we will do more testing for next year. This is a clear commitment from the parent company. We will continue to run a hybrid operation with a large number of Japanese staff alongside a large number of European staff "said Lin Jarvis during the closing conference of the season in Valencia.

Regarding the agreement with Crutchlow, the manager Yamaha in MotoGP assured that he had discussed with the British rider the terms and that both parties reached a consensus. “ We will have more European staff in the team, but we will continue to have this combination. We will definitely continue with Cal Crutchlow. We didn't sign, but we agreed to the terms and Cal will stay with us going forward. It has already been decided ", concluded Jarvis.
