It's 19° in the air and 24° on the track when the MotoGP riders make their four cylinders resonate between the hills of Mugello.

Andrea Iannone put her side wings back on on the sides of his Ducati and sports a new helmet decoration.

The start of the session is marked by the fall of Tito Rabat; not really violent, but numerous rolls left the Spanish driver stunned on the ground. He suffers from his left shoulder (clavicle fracture) and will be package for the rest of the weekend.
The first run ends with the Marc Marquez's best time in 1'47.579 ahead of Andrea Iannone, Maverick Vinales, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, all in 3 tenths.

Espargaro Pol then loses control of his Yamaha in turn 13; the same fall as Rabat, but the Tech3 driver slipped without rolling and escaped absolutely unscathed. most drivers did not change tires after the first run and the times did not improve dramatically.

When for his last run, new tires are required; Lorenzo also tries a Hard in the front while Red retains its Front Medium. The latter carries out an attack which places him in provisional second position (1'47.620) 6 minutes from the checkered flag.

In the next lap, it was Lorenzo who improved and took command, in 1'47.564, then it was the turn of Marc Marquez (1'47.273) in Medium forward.
More red lights light up everywhere and Iannone then breaks the 1'47 mark in 1'46.991. Hernandez and Petrucci interfere in the Top 5, expelling Rossi.
Bradley Smith regains colors in 7th place, while Maverick Vinales fell out of the Top 10, before re-entering it in 3rd position at the last second.

A truly beautiful finale in which Andrea Dovizioso, 12th, and Pol Espargaro, 17th, were the big losers!

Iannone, Marquez, Vinales, Hernandez, Lorenzo, Petrucci, Smith, Rossi, Pedrosa and Pirro are qualified for Q2.
