On the starting grid of the last Italian Grand Prix, a motorcycle was missing from the grid. A Marc VDS Racing Honda driven by Tito Rabat who crashed during FP3. An accident which at first did not seem violent. But nothing is trivial in MotoGP. And the Moto2 World Champion had the sad opportunity to see it.

Sad and painful because it was the collarbone that broke in the teammate of a Jack Miller who did not experience more success during a race at Mugello finished with all four irons in the air, shortly after the start. The Australian was swept away by the storm Baptist who, remember, sent another pilot to the surgery room: Loris Baz.

Events that Rabat looked from his bed in pain. For specialists, the pilot suffered from a sternoclavicular fracture of his left shoulder with displacement. His operation lasted 90 minutes and we are assured that it was carried out successfully at the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona. Doctors Xavier Mir and Victor Marlet stabilized the fracture with the installation of a plate and eight titanium screws.

During his career in Moto2, the same Rabat was back on his motorbike barely a week after having had surgery for this type of fracture. Next on the calendar is Barcelona on June 5. But although the delay may be more favorable to the injured person, the fact remains that MotoGP is another story. So much so that the boss of the team on the field, Michael Bartholemy, tempers any idea of a rapid return: “ this fracture is a heavy penalty for Tito whose fall at the Italian Grand Prix seemed almost innocuous. The good news is that the injury is less serious than we initially thought.

He was also able to return very quickly to Barcelona for treatment. The surgical intervention, carried out by doctors Mir and Marlet, was a success, but it will take a little more time before deciding when Tito will be able to return to competition. We know he would like to come back as quickly as possible, but we hope he is fully recovered to do so. ».

Loris Baz, he is recovering from a broken foot and we will remember that Danilo Petrucci is returning from a hand injury sustained in a fall during the offseason. That's the news from the infirmary.
