Last year, when Paddock-GP was not yet born, we had a meeting with Jacque Bolle, President of the French Motorcycling Federation. He told us about the two dangers currently threatening motorcycle sport in France, namely, in summary, insurers and environmental pressure.
More recently, he declared, following his re-election: " I will consolidate the actions undertaken for several years and which are bearing fruit: the help and support of our 1280 clubs, the development of the practice offer both in competition and in leisure, the structuring of our Regional Leagues, the aid to high-level drivers, the purchase of circuits…
Environmental, legal and insurance threats are still present. The balance to contain costs remains precarious in terms of insurance for our clubs and our licensees. We must remain vigilant and combative in order to perpetuate our sport. As such, the work undertaken on securing circuits is essential.
I will continue to make the defense of motorcycles my priority, taking my sword everywhere against those who want to reduce our freedom and limit this passion that drives us. »
Since then, we have carefully followed each approach and each battle of the FFM against these pressures from outside our sport in general.
Also, at a time when anti-vehicle decisions in general are multiplying (ban on old vehicles in Paris, cars and motorcycles combined, definitive closure of the road on the bank, etc.), when one of these fights is won in end of a legal battle fought to its conclusion, was it for a modest “Provence motocross and quad championship”, we applaud with both hands, because it is by attacking the base of the pyramid that anti-motorcycles could generate very negative jurisprudence!
General Information – The FFM obtains a new victory before the Council of State
The French Motorcycling Federation and the Moto-Club of Goult (84) have been waging a long-term battle for 4 years concerning a refusal to organize a competition at the request of a radical environmentalist association.
At the time, the Administrative Court Then Administrative Court of Appeal had given reason to the FFM by pronouncing theannulment of the ban decision.
Le Council of state, highest French administrative court, just reject the final appeal of the environmental association, considering it as inadmissible and unfounded.
(Council of State, 5th – 4th combined chambers, 28/09/2016, 390111).
Recall that the sport is considered to begeneral interest (L100-1 of the Sports Code).
La FFM will continue to support its
clubs and will not hesitate to assert your rights before the courts whenever necessary.
