The former MotoGP World Champion, currently a Honda Ten Kate rider in World Superbike, was hit by a car while riding his bike in Riccione Tavoleto in Italy this Wednesday around 14 p.m.
Hayden was in a group of cyclists when a Peugeot hit him.
He hit the windshield and then was thrown onto the road.
After his condition was stabilized on site, he was immediately transported to the emergency room of Infermi in Rimini.
Doctors' diagnosis is reserved due to serious chest injuries and several head traumas.
