A little sleepy lately, the world of Superbike woke up in disbelief to discover the new regulations that would be applied to it next year.

Basically, the Race 2 grid will now be decided with the results of Saturday's race. Superpole results will continue to define the starting positions for drivers who finished in 10th position or higher.

The rest of the grid will now be determined by the results of the first race and the first three rows will be affected as follows:

  • The Top 3 will occupy the third row. The 1st and 3rd will exchange places.
  • Drivers who finish in 4th, 5th and 6th positions will be promoted to the front row.
  • Drivers who finish in 7th, 8th and 9th positions will start from the second row.

The least we can say is that this measure gives rise to reflection among certain drivers, journalists and team managers.
Rather negative reflections, like that of Chaz Davies below, or positive, like than Paul Denning, the team manager of the Pata Yamaha team.

Undoubtedly intended to liven up the beginnings of races, this measure clearly directs the discipline towards spectacle to the detriment of sport, in an attempt to restore luster to a category lacking notoriety.

It's a fundamental question : The spectators, that is to say you, Do you prefer to watch shows or sports?

And, if it were necessary, would you like a measure of this kind to be applied in MotoGP (taking into account the result of the Grand Prix before, for example), a championship managed by the same authorities as the WSBK?
