The project was announced at the start of the year and initially consisted of the Sky Racing team VR46 creating a Moto2 team to run Romano Fenati.

Over the months, the adventure has become more ambitious, with the accepted presence of two motorcycles, but recently more difficult, with the ejection of the Italian rider.

Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia has just been established on one of the two bikes, most probably Kalex. The young 19-year-old Italian has indeed distinguished himself in Moto3 riding a Mahindra that is not considered excellent. He is also an integral part of the VR46 Riders Academy and, following an agreement with the Forward Racing team, should be able to start training this year...

To replace Romano Fenati, several names are still possible, but it seems that Danny Kent holds the rope, even if the Briton is also highly coveted by his current team. Answer in a few weeks… or before!

Francesco Bagnaia: “I am happy to join the Sky Racing Team VR46. This new Moto2 project is a great opportunity. I am proud to tackle this new challenge with a team that is like family to me. »

Paul Grandson – Team Manager: “We are very proud to announce that we will be on the grid with four young Italian talents in 2017. We will continue in Moto3 with two KTMs and two bikes in Moto2. The team composition will be finalized in the coming weeks, but we are happy to welcome Francesco Bagnaia. After the contract between Romano and the team was terminated, we decided to continue with our original plan which included two bikes in Moto2. We will define in the coming weeks who will join Francesco for this new challenge. We are motivated to bring all our commitment and professionalism to Pecco. »
