CANAL+ will be the exclusive broadcaster of MotoGP™ in France from the 2019 season.

CANAL+ is delighted to announce the acquisition of exclusive MotoGP broadcasting rights for several seasons, Moto2™ and Moto3™ from 2019. The three categories will be broadcast on CANAL+ channels.

MotoGP™ races will be broadcast live on CANAL+. The other races and the different sessions (tests, qualifications) will be offered live on CANAL+ channels and services.

In addition, two Grands Prix will be co-broadcast live each season by C8, the CANAL+ Group's free channel, and in particular the French Grand Prix which takes place each year on the legendary Le Mans circuit, a national event which attracts more than 200.000 spectators.

MotoGP™ is the premier category of the Motorcycle World Championship, with stars like the Italian Valentino Rossi, or the Spaniards Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo. Next year, two French riders will be on the starting line in MotoGP™: headliner Johann Zarco on KTM will be joined in 2019 by “rookie” Fabio Quartararo at Petronas Yamaha Sepang International Circuit. MotoGP™ will benefit from CANAL+'s recognized know-how and experience in motorsport broadcasting.

This agreement confirms the great richness of the CANAL+ offer in terms of motor sports. The Group already broadcasts the Formula 1 World Championship, Formula 2 and GP 3, as well as IndyCar, Formula E and the French Rally Championship.

Thierry Cheleman – Sports Director of the CANAL+ Group:
“The arrival of the MotoGP™ World Championship from 2019 is excellent news for our subscribers. The championship is an exciting series with tough races full of twists and turns. It reflects what we want to offer them: the biggest stars of sport, including French drivers, who compete every weekend, exclusively on our channels. The know-how of the CANAL+ teams in motor sports has already been rewarded internationally. We are particularly happy to be able to deploy it in this spectacular competition to further enhance it. »

Manel Arroyo – General Manager of Dorna Sports:
“Dorna is honored to partner with CANAL + for the next seasons. CANAL+ is a very experienced broadcaster and we are delighted that they are bringing all their know-how, combined with the strength of the Vivendi Group, to the Motorcycle World Championship. Together, we will develop the attractiveness and influence of MotoGP™ throughout France, culminating in the presence next year of two French riders on the starting line of each Grand Prix. At this pivotal time, we are very happy that CANAL+ will join the MotoGP™ family next season. We look forward to working together. »
