Dunlop will continue to serve as tire supplier to the Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories until 2020 inclusive.

The Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories will be equipped with Dunlop tires for the next three seasons. This announcement allows the British brand to continue its fabulous history in the World Championship, which began years ago, since its first victory dates back to 1949, with Les Graham in the 500cc.

In 2017, no less than 86 drivers, from 18 different countries, took part in the World Championship. The Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories, which are an integral part of it, are always the scene of big clashes between young talents, eager to one day make their way to MotoGP™.

Moto3™ was introduced in 2012 and Moto2™ two years earlier. From the start, Dunlop has supplied the riders in these two categories with tires, having bagged numerous triumphs in 250cc and 125cc, successes to which are added 17 World Champion titles in 250cc. Marc Márquez, Maverick Viñales, Johann Zarco and Pol Espargaró are among the crowned drivers, on machines shod with Dunlop tires, since the transition to Moto2™ and Moto3™.

In parallel with this contract renewal, Dunlop will continue to promote the #ForeverForward Award, this trophy which rewards the driver who has won the most positions in these categories over the course of a year. In 2017, this prize was awarded to Andrea Migno, who shattered the points record with her 137 points.

Xavier Fraipont – Managing Director at Dunlop: “We are proud to continue our partnership with Dorna Sports in the Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories. We always strive to move forward, bringing the latest technologies. Moreover, we introduced a new specification in Moto2™ for the grand finale in Valencia and it equipped the winner Miguel Oliveira. Racing at this level of competition allows us to test and develop new components. We then learn lessons to benefit Dunlop SportSmart MAX and the new SportSmart TT. »

Pau Serracanta – Managing Director of Dorna Sports: “It is an honor for us to be able to count on Dunlop as a collaborator. Tires occupy a central place in the competition and Dunlop is the ideal collaborator for the Moto2™ and Moto3™ categories because the latter offer us spectacular battles. These three other seasons are proof of the success of this partnership. »
