2017 will therefore see the simultaneous arrival in Grand Prix of the official Ktm MotoGP and Moto2 teams.
The Austrian manufacturer did not wish to gradually establish itself in these two categories and therefore feels the wings to extend its field of action in the same year, after having shone in Moto3 since the beginning of these machines (World Champion in 2012 and certainly 2016).
Without even mentioning the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup which supplies its share of Grand Prix riders each year, Ktm will thus become the first manufacturer to be present in all three categories and before that, probably Niccolo Antonelli and Bo Bendsneyder in Moto3, as well as Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith in MotoGP, it is therefore Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira, two regulars of the brand, who were chosen to defend the orange colors in Moto2, within a team managed by Aki Ajo.
As in Moto3 and MotoGP, Moto2 will have a tubular steel chassis built by WP which is integrated into Ktm. Both drivers will be able to try them on November 16.

Brad Binder a fait une saison très réussie cette année et nous avons bon espoir qu’il remportera le championnat. Nous sommes maintenant heureux qu’il puisse monter dans la nouvelle équipe Moto2. Nous avons également le plaisir d’accueillir de nouveau Miguel Oliveira dans la Famille Orange après une année passée en Moto2.”
