With the 2020 season, Red Bull KTM Tech3 will innovate. The French team is ready to leave the Moto2 category in order to initiate a completely new start in the Moto3 World Championship category.

Thus, Red Bull KTM Tech3 is very proud to announce a two-rider team with the support of Red Bull and KTM, and is committed to taking on a different challenge aimed at discovering this super competitive category.

Hervé Poncharal : “Being involved in racing for so many years, one of the things I enjoy most is taking on a new challenge, and you're never disappointed about that with KTM, it's is certain. I fully understand and support KTM's decision to withdraw from the Moto2 category as a manufacturer and focus its efforts on Moto3 and MotoGP. It is therefore an honor to fly the Red Bull KTM flag in the ultra-competitive Moto3 category, which Tech3 has never participated in before. Together with KTM, we want to see our partnership grow and discover a new category as well as help the young talents who will be the future of Moto3 competition at the highest level. We must therefore now reorganize ourselves in 2020 and the main mission is to find and convince pilots who have the profile to understand and match our program. The coming days will therefore be very busy. Finally, I consider this approach to be very positive and constructive and the whole team is very motivated to deliver what Red Bull and KTM expect of us.”

Pete Beirer, KTM Motorsport Director: “First of all, I must say that we are very proud after these first months of collaboration with Tech3, Hervé and the whole team. Although this is only a short period of time, we have already established a very strong partnership and we look forward to building on this momentum for the future. Our strategic change, which we decided at the end of last week, is based on the long-term commitment we have made to the championship. We have just confirmed five additional years in MotoGP, i.e. for seven years. Nurturing our KTM MotoGP academy is very important and fundamental, and it starts with the Moto3 bikes in this paddock. So, coming from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup to the Moto3 World Championship, we think we need to step up with our talents and with very strong teams. This is why we are really proud to see that Tech3 follows and encourages our idea, and that we can create another Moto3 platform together in this environment. It will be a very solid foundation for the young talents of tomorrow and I look forward to this project which we fully support. This is part of our overall strategy in MotoGP. Once again, thanks to all the guys at Tech3 for being on our side! ".
