After three years spent in MotoGP, one with Forward Racing riding a Yamaha and two with the Avintia team, Loris Baz was forced to leave the MotoGP world championship.

Not because of a lack of performance or a disagreement with his current team, but rather because of hazardous communication on social networks which offended the main partners of the Spanish team.

Today, his focus is on the FIM Superbike World Championship where he has already officiated brilliantly for three years.

Aged 25, the French pilot hopes to be able to bounce back and confided in the site World SBK : « I'm proud of what I was able to achieve in MotoGP™, because if you go back three years, it wasn't easy for me to come here. Few people thought I could ride a MotoGP™ because of my size, but I think I proved otherwise. Apart from that, I think these three years helped me to be a better driver. I improved my style, my racing pace... I made a lot of progress and that's what I'm most proud of.

I would have liked to continue this adventure for one more year riding a motorcycle that would have allowed me to fight for the Top 6 or even the Top 5. I am only 25 years old and I have three years of experience in WorldSBK and three in MotoGP™, so I have quite a few years left in me.

At the moment I'm trying to find the best package and the best project for next season. There are not many potentially competitive machines and many places are already occupied. We are talking with a few teams like Ten Kate. I think it would be nice to work with them and help them triumph again, because they are a team that has won for many years. Today the team is suffering a little, but I think I was fast in WorldSBK. I know most of the circuits, the Championship and the tires. Little has changed. So that would be a good solution. We also talk with others to find the best handlebars. »

Loris Baz will be present this weekend in the Magny-Cours paddock.
