To the question asked by the Journal of Sport,"Why not have Stoner race instead of Petrucci, in Argentina and the United States, on the GP15 of the Pramac team?”, Gigi Dall'Igna's response could not be clearer.

Gigi Dall'Igna : “He is currently not physically able to run a race. And even less two, consecutive. He only started riding a MotoGP again in Malaysia, and it had been six months since he had last ridden a motorcycle. In addition, he also had some physical problems (with his kidney) and he still lacks strength… It would have made no sense to make him run.”

Arguments which are beyond any possible dispute and which force fans of the Australian driver to be patient before seeing him face his little comrades during a race.

Could this nevertheless take place during the Austrian Grand Prix, which will take place on August 14, on a circuit that no one (apart from Marc Marquez) knows?

Gigi Dall'Igna : “Casey is a collaborator and the thing that interests me is that he tests the bike, that he tests the new components. From the middle of the season, we will see.”

As a reminder, medical examinations on the Australian driver, carried out last fall after his crash at Suzuka, revealed severe renal failure in one of his kidneys which was only functioning at 35%.
