PRESS RELEASE
According to the usually very serious El Pais, the Pritelli group which owns the company GP Racing Apparels would bear the costs of this breakup in order to henceforth be able to distribute the merchandising of the two Marquez brothers. The clothing line and the helmet will therefore be completely redesigned but, for the latter, Marc Marquez would no longer call on the famous Italian designer Aldo Drudi (Drudi Performance), considered far too close to Valentino Rossi since he designs all of the latter's helmets.
Thus, if we are to believe the Spanish press, Marc Marquez and his entourage would cut into anything that has anything to do with Valentino Rossi, as well as with those who supported the latter during the famous clash of Sepang, like the Nieto family, although Spanish but of which Pablo is the team manager of the Sky VR46 Moto3 team and especially of which the famous Angel, 13 times world champion, had taken the side of Valentino Rossi on Spanish television. As a result, the Marquez brothers will have a Camper built and will no longer sleep in the immaculate GP rooms made available by the former pilot Derbi.
But, to come back to the MM93 helmet, it turns out, after a doubt on our part and according to our own investigation, that this end of collaboration with Drudi Performance has absolutely nothing to do with the “Sepang clash”.
The decision was made well before, in the spring of 2015, not to dissociate oneself from Valentino Rossi, but quite simply to adapt “the ant” (well created by Aldo Drudi then subsequently became the mascot of #93) to the design of Shoei's new helmet, the X-Spririt III.
It is therefore the designers of the Japanese firm who actually took charge of the 2016 decoration of the double MotoGP world champion, but this well before the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The design was indeed finalized at Silverstone and the helmet was also presented and used in Aragon in its “MotoGP test” version, that is to say in black and white decorated with car manufacturer style camouflages, then presented in its replica version at the EICMA, in November last.
