Publicly questioned by the Spanish site The Confidential in the context of possible tax evasion, Jorge Lorenzo has just published a categorical denial of which we offer the following translation.
Jorge Lorenzo : " In view of the information published yesterday by El Confidential (which was taken up by many other media), I would like to clarify:
1/ I do not know, nor have I requested the services of Mr. Alejandro Perez Calzada, the person cited as responsible in the Charisma fraud system. Being linked to tax evasion and money laundering activity is misleading and false information with the aim of damaging my reputation.
Although El Confidential has already made changes to the article, I would like to warn that my lawyer will take legal action against any media that could claim such a connection with a fraudulent system.
2/ Since 2013, I have lived and paid my taxes in Switzerland. The authorities of this country have recorded my tax resident status and they have full knowledge of the composition and location of my assets. There is nothing opaque.
3/ Regarding the Spanish tax authorities, I would like to clarify that I have paid all taxes that have been claimed. However, my lawyers do not agree with the interpretation of the Spanish tax service (which considers me a Spanish tax resident) and have requested the reimbursement of these amounts.
