For the others, probably secluded in the depths of a cave in East Papua, know that this is a 33-year-old woman who can only inspire respect despite her visible propensity to torture the tires of her motorcycle, on one wheel of her choice, generally in a position that is anything but academic, and in the strident howl of the four cylinders of her Ninja ZX-6R.
In short, stunt work (cascade, for the East Papua New Guineans reading this)!
So yes, she's a stunt champion, a great champion, who posts on her social media. truly impressive videos, equally capable of instantly silencing many agile males of the nighttime breaker, as of turning children's eyes into glass marbles.
But in this 2.0 world where AI has already rendered the veracity of images obsolete, we get used to everything very quickly, even the extraordinary. It was therefore with a kind of resignation that we accepted the invitation to visit Red Bull France for a preview screening of the 52-minute documentary " Sarah Lezito, high-flying ».
Stunts are fine... for 5 minutes!
But 52 minutes, either we'll fall asleep, or we'll go out and buy some cotton wool to slow down the bleeding from our ears!
But, well, professional conscience towards our readers obliges, it was therefore with a sort of feeling of sacrifice that we went near the Bastille, in Paris, to look for the headquarters of the drink that gives wings (PO friends, don't get carried away, these are stories)...
Because searching is indeed the right word, the company being carefully located at the back of a very discreet porch, a kind of cave without any sign, even if the bull that greets us once we enter leaves no room for doubt: here, we are here to work.
We ignore the startup-style gym, prominently displayed for all to see, and the hundreds of open-plan offices crammed with computers, and we plunge into the state-of-the-art elevator which, instead of offering us arrow buttons to press, has the audacity to try and start a conversation with us. It might as well take our blood pressure and tell us our blood sugar levels…
Hey, come on! We just came to see Lezito! Hands off: as punishment, we'll go back down the stairs!
"5th floor, you have arrived."
We arrived, yes, in a sort of small amphitheater, with a screen and the Kawasaki 600 on the platform. The atmosphere was young and relaxed, just like Sarah Lezito who took a moment to herself before the start of a screening that she would discover in its entirety on her own.
Acknowledgments, a minimalist introduction, and off we go for 52 minutes of stunt work…
And, by the magic of the exercise, we find ourselves almost instantly applauding, almost with tears in our eyes, because this documentary exudes such a beautiful person, obviously passionate but above all simple and fiercely determined.
So yes, Sarah Lezito has shattered many previously established codes, but above all, raised on YouTube sharing from a very young age, she offers us a dizzying plunge far beyond her world: a plunge into herself!
Engrossed in this intimate sharing, we are light years away from the empty rhetoric of MotoGP riders, and in a few minutes we discover why the little girl from Champagne fell in love with motorized acrobatics, how she was able to make it her profession, what it entails, how she prepares her own motorcycle, how one becomes the stunt double for Marvel Studios stars, why it is not what she likes the most, and a thousand other answers that paint the portrait of a woman whose talent is certainly known worldwide, but who has above all managed to remain as simple as her journey appears, a guarantee of a human depth at least as impressive as her stunts.
Moreover, to be perfectly honest, after a few group Q&A sessions following the screening (which we will discuss later), we had the opportunity to delve deeper into the character, and once again Sarah Lezito truly proved herself extraordinary, not hesitating for a second to answer even the most delicate questions with a disarmingly natural spontaneity…
Between the motorcycle brand she hates, her professional relationship with "Charlotte," and the importance of Red Bull in her activities, the information concerning her "After" is undoubtedly the piece of information that surprised and impressed us the most, so much so that, out of modesty, we obviously didn't dare conclude our interview with the "Sarah, we love you!" perfectly corresponding to our current state of mind, opting for the cowardly ease of humor "Sarah, you're really annoying! You're one of those people who makes you feel like crap next to you. Goodbye!"
