People MotoGP: The biggest helmet in the world for Valentino Rossi in Pesaro!

The MotoGP San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix will take place in just over a month and the celebration announcements are already coming one after the other, fromofficial poster concocted by Aldo Drudi to the scheduled publication of a work summarizing the 50 years of the circuit. 

However, in Pesaro, we decided not to wait until then, and it's a giant helmet of the local hero Valentino Rossi which was erected yesterday in Piazzale d'Annunzio: 3,6 meters high, 5,40 meters long, weighing 400 kilograms, "the largest in the world" according to the municipality which is aiming for the Guiness Book.

Présenté en présence du maire Matteo Ricci et de Massimiliano Santini, créateur et coordinateur du projet, le maxi-casque a pour ambition de marquer Pesaro dans le reste de l’Italie et peut-être dans le monde, surtout si la suite du projet se réalise, à savoir imprimer la visière du casque géant en holographie/3D pour que les personnes qui se trouveront devant le “monument” aient la nette perception d’observer les yeux de Valentino Rossi qui brillent de manière réaliste derrière la visière.

Valentino Rossi : " I love her so much. I loved the idea from the start. I've been a big helmet enthusiast since my childhood, and that's also what brought me closer to motorcycling. After all, it's the graphics that made me so famous. I'm happy because for me it's very, very important since I often come to Pesaro. And then my parents met in Pesaro. Well, I grew up in Tavullia but I come here several times a week because I always train here, so my second home and so I am very, very happy that this helmet was dedicated to me. I have always been a big motorcycle enthusiast and I am happy because, with my career, many people became passionate and followed motorcycles and MotoGP more closely. And then now we have a lot of young riders racing for us, we have the team in MotoGP, so I hope all the fans continue to watch the races and cheer. »

Asked about his vision of the current MotoGP season, the nine-time champion did not create any surprises: “ J’espère que nos pilotes iront vite et que Bagnaia pourra récupérer les points de retard qu’il a, et peut-être se battre pour le titre. J’espère aussi que mon frère et “Bez” (Marco Bezzecchi), qui courent avec notre équipe, pourront à nouveau se battre et faire des podiums. »
