The world’s stars of motorcycling shone brightly at the 2024 FIM Awards Ceremony, which was successfully held on a glittering night at Palma’s cutting-edge Convention Centre, overlooking the Balearic island’s capital. The prestigious end-of-season ceremony saw the World Champions FIM this year receive their gold medals to the thunderous applause of the assembled members of the FIM Family and led by the FIM President, Jorge Viegas.

With a thousand guests in attendance to honour the winners of 62 FIM World Titles in six different areas of motorcycling sport, circuit racing, motocross, trials, enduro, off-road rallying and track racing, the programme was packed and executed to perfection. The impressive Mediterranean island venue was packed with representatives from all 121 National Federations showing their appreciation alongside motorcycling legends, FIM promoters, FIM partners and representatives from the wider global motorcycling community and industry.

Masterfully led by the trio of emcees Barbara Pedrotti, James Toseland and FIM President Matt Roberts, Jorge Viegas, then gave a speech to the FIM anthem before presenting the FIM Distinctions, the Nicolas Rodil des Valle Gold Medal, to Jaime Alguersuari, a former Grand Prix motorcycle racer, visionary event promoter and co-founder of Solo Moto magazine, and Igor Akrapovich, founder of the eponymous exhaust manufacturer.

After delivering a speech on the theme of the first FIM Intercontinental Games, FIM President Jorge Viegas then introduced FIM circuit racing legend, Dominique Méliand, who presented the medals in the circuit racing category to Harry Payne, FIM sidecar world champion, Kevin Rousseau, FIM sidecar passenger world champion, Aldi Satya Mahendra, FIM Supersport 300 World Champion, Adrian Huertas, FIM Supersport World Champion, Héctor Garzo, FIM MotoE™ World Champion, Alvaro Carpe, FIM JuniorGP™ World Champion, Ana Carrasco, FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Champion, David Alonso, FIM Moto3™ Grand Prix World Champion and Ai Ogura, FIM Moto2™ Grand Prix World Champion.

Still on the subject of speed, FIM Vice President Ignacio Verneda was then invited to take to the stage to present the Endurance category gold medals to Yoshimura SERT Motul, FIM Endurance World Champion under the direction of Damien Saulnier et Yohei Kato, Greg Black, FIM endurance world champion, Etienne Masson, FIM endurance world champion, and Dan Linfoot, FIM endurance world champion.

The final category of the evening was the Ultimate Champions with FIM President Jorge Viegas once again on stage to pay tribute to Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, FIM Superbike World Champion and George Martin, FIM MotoGP™ World Champion.

The president of the FIM, Jorge Viegas, looking back on this fantastic evening, said: “Bringing together so many of our FIM World Champions always makes for a very special occasion and the 2024 FIM Awards were the perfect conclusion to the FIM’s XNUMXth anniversary year. Palma de Mallorca proved to be a fantastic venue, made possible thanks to the support of the RFME.
I want to thank everyone who contributed in any way to making the 2024 season a huge success. Tonight was the perfect way to celebrate and close it out, even as we look ahead to 2025 and put plans in place to make it even better.”
