Valentino Rossi

Valentino Rossi shook the walls of the 78th edition of the Milan Motor Show by appearing for a final farewell lap in a leather suit and helmet in front of 9 fans. A great moment, too, for Yamaha who gave him a gift while the Doctor delivered a moving speech in which, once again, the decidedly marked regret of not having had this tenth title is mentioned...

Valentino Rossi, after running his last career race in MotoGP in Valencia, was a great protagonist this Thursday in Eicma of Milan, as part of an event organized by Yamaha and placed under the banner entitled “ One More Lap ". The only rider in history to have won the title in four different categories, 125, 250, 500 and MotoGP, and boasting 115 victories, 235 podiums, 65 poles in 432 races, received a real ovation from his supporters. The meeting (9 seats and already sold out) took place outdoors in the MotoLive Arena and was a real triumph.

Rossi arrived on the #60 Yamaha in honor of Iwata's 60th anniversary and after the ceremony he came off stage to sign autographs for fans in the front rows. Lynn Jarvis (Managing Director Yamaha) who maintains a very close relationship with the “Doctor”, was on hand to offer him a special edition of the R1 for the occasion.

Valentino Rossi commented, starting with this decidedly deep wound: “ I would have liked to win another world title, it would have been nice to have reached 10 titles ". Then he continued: “ Sundays without competitions will be difficult, but there is no turning back now. I'm going to miss the hug of all the fans. It was a great pleasure to see all these people and the fans from the stage. Too bad about the weather, it didn't stop raining for a moment, so they were very brave, it was also cold but it was nice to see them. Not even today, they let me go! »

Valentino Rossi now has a unique R1 in his garage

« It's been great to have all their support since the start of my career, always seeing the tracks colored yellow has always been exciting, it's always given me a big boost. In Valencia, during the last race, I tried to have as “normal” a weekend as possible, I hoped to have a decent race and it was good like that. Now comes the hard part, but I sure won't be bored. I will have lots of things to do between the cars, the VR46 teams, the drivers… ».

The “Doctor” also opened up about his future schedule: “ next week there will be the 100 km of the Ranch, there will be a lot of very strong riders in MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3, Superbike and Motocross. On January 8 we will go to Abu Dhabi with Ferrari, a race that I always do with Uccio and my brother Luca. For the next year, I'm deciding between 2-3 different championships and which team to race with, I haven't decided yet ».
