Arriving at Phillip Island with a 21-point advantage, Johann Zarco knows very well that his position is comfortable but that he must not make a big mistake, with Alex Rins still in the race for the world title.

The strategy to adopt is therefore to always be in the leading positions, without pushing the limit to ensure command at all costs. And that's exactly what he did today on the Australian circuit by positioning himself in provisional third place.

Johann zarco: “Today, it rained a lot in FP1. I found a good pace at the start, improving with each lap and getting closer to the fastest times. I felt comfortable driving but towards the end the rain got heavier and it became too risky.

In FP2, the team and I waited to see if we could go out, but the weather got worse and Race Direction decided to cancel the session. It was the right choice.

For tomorrow, we have two plans, depending on whether it rains or not. If it rains, we must be careful, go step by step and not hurry. In case it is dry, it will be important to find the sensations quickly, because we will have little time to work on the settings. We'll see tomorrow. »
