This particularly touches me because I had the chance to be part of the GMT family and I was thus able to form a real friendship with Christophe and the entire team. With Bruno Bonhuil, Christophe is for me a second “motorcycle brother” because we share the same values ​​and the same passion.

Christophe GUYOT (5rd episode: 1996 to 1999)

In this episode we discover the arrival in the team of famous pilots like Rachel Nicotte, Jean Yves Mounier and Florian Ferracci, who come to give a “handlebar boost” to the team. Back to the 1996 Bol which was stopped by rain. It was also the big fight at the 24 1997 Hours of Le Mans, which saw the GMT 94 once again fail at the foot of the podium for a few seconds. It was also at the end of 1997 that Sébastien Scarnato joined the team. In 1998 it was the title of French Champion for Christophe and paradoxically, after this title, it was a questioning and the plan to stop everything, but the partnership with Pirelli would be beneficial for the rest of the adventure.

Christophe GUYOT (6rd episode: 2000 to 2004)

In 2000, the GMT won its first victory during the 24 Hours of Oshersleben, and finished the season vice world endurance champion, it was the start of a great adventure. In 2001, victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans was a magical moment for Christophe and the team. The drivers of this era are Sébastien Scarnato, Nicolas Dussauge and of course Christophe Guyot. Then in 2002, William Costes joined the team and in 2003, it was a young Spaniard, hot as embers, who took the handlebars of the Yamaha of GMT 94. New rider and new bike which would mark a turning point in the life of the team. Finally in 2004, it was Sébastien Gimbert who completed the trio Costes, Checa, Guyot to win the title of world endurance champion.

Christophe Guyot (7th episode. 2005 to 2018).

In this episode we find the commitment of GMT 94 in World Supersport and Superbike, with great things and more difficult periods. In 2005 it was victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2006 Garry McCoy joined the team, but only participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2007 it was finally victory at the Bol d'Or. In 2014 and 2017 there are 2 new titles of World Endurance Champion And let's not forget speed with the title of French Stocksport 1000 Champion of Kenny Foray in 2015 and that of French Superbike Champion of David Checa in 2016. 

The circle is complete, the GMT 94 stops endurance in 2018 to devote itself to the Supersport World Championship... but the interview is not over, we will meet Christophe again for 2 new episodes in which he will tell us about his involvement within of the FFM, the establishment of the GMT Open in 2006, his other passion Rock and David Checa's record on the Carole circuit...
