First played without any prior announcement during the first FIM Intercontinental Games in Jerez, in Spain, then during the FIM Awards Ceremony in Palma de Mallorca At the beginning of this month, the FIM is now excited to officially release her own anthem.
This audio project marks the final chapter in the FIM rebranding process that began twelve months ago with the launch of the new FIM logo and visual identity. Seeing the logo and hearing the FIM anthem will be an important element in recognising and identifying FIM events in the future.
Composed by the Italian Enzo Dalla Gassa, the project was led by his compatriot Andrea Grigolato in partnership with the Hoodooh agency, and the resulting musical score was performed by an orchestra from Bucharest, Romania.
Reflecting the many nationalities, varied disciplines, inclusiveness and diversity, and pure passion found within the FIM global family, the internationally designed anthem will be the perfect sonic reminder of the FIM’s values and objectives.
The music supervisor Andrea A. Grigolato (Hoodooh) said: “I have always believed that music is about connecting people through emotion. Speaking of emotion, we felt the responsibility and honour of shaping the sound of the FIM for years to come, but at the same time we were excited about what we were doing. We felt free to explore these soundscapes and we had a lot of fun! Responsibility, thrills, freedom, fun… these are also the words I would use to describe what riding a motorcycle is for me.”
The composer Enzo Livio Gilles Dalla Gassa added: “I was born surrounded by engines, loving everything that can be fast. This opportunity has been pure magic for me. I am deeply grateful because the whole journey, from the composition of this anthem to its presentation at the FIM Awards, has been my greatest musical experience so far. It was a huge honour for me to compose this anthem for this legendary sporting federation.”
Delighted with the completion of this project, Jorge Viegas, FIM President, said: “The idea of having a FIM anthem was a success: “The idea of having a FIM anthem was born shortly after I joined the FIM many years ago. I am therefore very proud to have had the opportunity to bring this concept to life at the end of the 120th anniversary celebrations. Just like the new logo, the anthem represents the future plans and aspirations of the FIM and cements the FIM family in another way, as we continue to work together more closely than ever to achieve our common goals.”
