The opening day of the Malaysian tests was not easy for the two Honda factory teammates, with many tests involving two different engines and many new parts. The times were not extraordinary, but a lot of kilometers were covered, even on a wet track when the rain appeared.

Tuesday should help the two Spaniards, effectively assisted by Cal Crutchlow and the LCR team, to sort through the equipment made available to them. If the weather is favorable, they should be able to perform better times on Tuesday and Wednesday because they both kept the three soft rear tires made available to them for these tests.
