While their big sisters are shaking their heads at Sepang during the MotoGP test, a good number of Moto2 and Moto3 riders did the same yesterday in Valencia, during a private test session.
We were thus able to count no less than 20 motorcycles on the track, which were able to benefit from ideal conditions, with beautiful sunshine and temperatures of 18° in the air and 22° on the ground, what's more without the slightest breath of wind . The track was more or less clean, although it was still better to stay on the quickly erased trajectories.
A private test means an absence of official timing, but that did not prevent our correspondent on site from taking out his chrono to get a rough idea of the forces present.
The result is that in Moto3, the KTM / Honda clash was mainly driven by Aron Canet (KTM, Max Racing Team) in 1'39.6, against Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Honda, Leopard Racing) which ran in 1'39.7. As a reminder, the circuit record belongs to George Martin since 2017, in 1'38.428.
Aron canet : “The day was very positive, I have an incredible feeling with the new machine, which is completely different from what we had last year. We rode the bike with which we are going to start the world championship. We felt strong from the first day and we went very fast in the morning, so we are happy.”
In addition the drivers mentioned yesterday, were also present Kaito Toba et Ai Ogura for Honda Team Asia, as well as Romano Fenati next to Tony Arbolino in the Marinelli Snipers Team renamed Team O.
La latest drivers list 2019 actually planned it, but actually seeing him on the track after having served his sentence is another thing, whether everyone likes it or not. After his misdeed in Misano, his international license was withdrawn until January 31 and, today, the Ascoli Piceno driver is now fully fit to race. Since his media troubles, the Italian driver has however decided to communicate as little as possible.

In Moto2, the session was marked by the minor fall ofAlex Marquez from whom this year we expect a performance at the highest level alongside Xavier Vierge.

The other consistent team present, Pons Racing, also showed its pretensions, with a duo Lorenzo Baldasarri et Augusto Fernandez
particularly consistent. The RW NTS team is present with
Steven Odendaal et Bo Bendsneyder, just like Angel Nieto Team with
Xavier Cardelus et Jake Dixon.
The big absentee from this test is the SKY VR46 team (Luca Marini, Nicolo Bulega), who will perhaps be in Jerez next week.
Training continues today from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m. with free entry to the box stand.
