After an evening of technical unemployment, the Moto2s found a Losail track finally free of its patches of humidity. THE Moto3 having started to clean the asphalt of Qatar, the protagonists of the intermediate category of the Grands Prix were able to resume their rhythm. Or almost. Before the big jump in this evening's competition, it was Morbidelli who achieved the best time in the final training session.
Finally, a fairly clement sky allowed the Moto2 riders to set off for a warm-up session that looked like a warm-up. It will be recalled that the starting grid was created through the accumulation of three free practice sessions.
An operation which revealed a duel between the two Marc VDS Racing drivers, Morbidely ahead of very little Alex Marquez. A confrontation that Tom Luthi will only ask to arbitrate by recalling that it was he who, last year, had, after many adventures, crossed the checkered flag first.

Above all, it was a question of avoiding a fall while the times in 2'01 first arrived from Asia, with Nakagami et Syahrin. An example followed more than fifteen minutes from the goal by Morbidely. Meanwhile, Xavier Virgo, knocking on the door of the top 5, showed that we would have to count on the Mistral610 this Sunday.
Morbidely further increased the time and crossed the 2'01 mark, a performance in 2'00.934 which he then took care of beating in 2'00.881. An advantage that he will push to 2'00.472 almost five minutes from the end of hostilities.
It will be the undefeated reference despite the latest assaults of Nakagami andOlive tree which shows the relevance of the KTM project. Lüthi is at the aspi, just as Pasini, the last driver to claim a time in 2'00.
Baldassari leads the rest of the pack ahead Alex Marquez, Syahrin, Cortese with his Suter and Axel Pons which closes the top 10 to the resident of his dad's team, in this case our fabio quartararo. The Tech3 drivers make a group shot at the eighteenth and nineteenth positions. Note the thirtieth rank of the Moto3 World Champion Brad Binder which is not yet useful to KTM's approach in the category.
