The President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Giovanni Malagò, will be Valentino Rossi's guest at his Ranch on March 10 for the pleasure of taking a few motorcycle rides with the Doctor. One thing is certain according to the local daily “Il Resto del Carlino”, the institutions are very close to Valentino Rossi, even in this delicate moment.

Giovanni Malagò, after inaugurating the Pesaro Via Togliatti swimming pool, declared this January, “ I come often, and I will return in March, to the Valentino Rossi Ranch, with a surprise that will bring me even closer to his land.”

The residents of the Ranch, although rejected by the local court (TAR) at first instance, continue to fight to obtain the closure of the land. We have frequently experienced this type of problem in France with a classic and immutable real estate attack which consists of:

1. Buy land near a circuit, inexpensive due to noise pollution,

2. Set up a residents’ association,

3. Ban noisy activities, and therefore close the circuit,

4. Take advantage of cheap and quiet land, or resell it at a good profit.

To counter these actions, Jacques Bolle, the President of the FFM, had the effective idea of buying the threatened land. These are the slopes of Auterive (Gers), Berchères les Pierres (Eure et Loir), Condé sur Escault Thivencelle (North), Cussac (Haute-Vienne), Edern (Finistère), Escassefort (Lot-et-Garonne) , Montlaur (Aveyron), St Nolff (Morbihan), Sucé sur Erdre (Loire Atlantique) and Toucy (Yonne).

Residents then no longer have to deal with a small isolated owner (often a farmer from the surrounding area), but with a national federation, delegated by the State, and member of the CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sports Committee). An approved federation receives a delegation from the minister responsible for sports, with a decree in the Council of State. Suffice to say that for the complaining local residents, the adversary is no longer the same.

We seem determined to play on the same register in Italy on the Tavullia side. Even if he is popular and famous, Valentino Rossi is a sportsman without much political power. The support of CONI should provide him with the support he may need so that the ranch can continue its activities.
