For its twelfth edition, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, which is in a way one of the two antechambers of the Grands Prix – the other being the Junior Moto3 World Championship as part of the CEV – brings together 25 participants who will return for the first time since 2014 at Mugello.
These 25 riders representing 17 countries have just ridden for 3 days in Jerez to familiarize themselves with their KTM RC 250 R. The season itself will begin at the same place on May 5, during the Red Bull España Grand Prix.
Most weekends will feature two races, but the Italians traditionally invade the track after the MotoGP race, which changes the race schedule at Mugello and Misano, where there will only be one Rookies race. Cup. The season ends, as usual, in Spain at Motorland Aragón in September.
Everything is going well, except that no French driver managed to qualify this year. It's all the more a shame since it was by winning the first Rookies Cup that Johann zarco started to be talked about in 2007. Let's hope that next season will be more favorable to the young French.
