Brad Binder had dominated until then all the test sessions for an Austrian Grand Prix which is also the national meeting for his employer KTM. The latter materialized during qualifying, but not with his official foal. It was Leopard resident Joan Mir who showed his claws to better announce the color for the Sunday Grand Prix.

Austria Moto3 Chrono Pile
FP1 1'37.902 Brad Binder
FP2 1'37.070 Brad Binder
 FP3  1'36.548  Brad Binder

Car Mir, 18, has been in good shape since he put the wheels of his KTM on the Red Bull Ring track. During Austrian qualifying, he achieved his first career peak position in 1.36.228, beating a Binder until then sovereign but who had difficulty with a certain Arenas in his fastest lap. The lost tenths will no longer be made up but the South African still remains on a first row shared with bastianini.

Un bastianini best card from Honda which can also count on a Canet appeared out of nowhere but jumped to fourth place at the expense of fabio quartararo, fifth. The Frenchman hoped for much better, especially seeing his partner at the top of the timesheet. Open up follows and he is the best representative of the VR46 team ahead of his friend from the academy Rossi bagnaia who is the boss of Mahindra. Oettl, Di Giannantonithe et Bendsneyder complete the top 10.

Third in the championship, fenati is eleventh ahead of Danilo who is ahead of his teammate Antonelli. Arenas, replacing Masbou, is twenty-fourth, ahead of his partner McPhee twenty-ninth. Second overall NAVARRO is only eighteenth. The affairs of Binder are far from being in danger.
