After a frosty first day in Austria, all the settings have to be restarted this afternoon for qualifying since the track went from 20° this morning to 40° at the start of FP4.

Here are the references available at the moment:

Austria MotoGP Chrono Pile
FP1 1'25.866 Maverick Vinales
FP2 1'23.617 Andrea Dovizioso
FP3 1'23.327 Andrea Iannone

FP4: This morning, Andrea Iannone took the lead over his teammate but we know that the latter had declared in advance to only work on his racing pace, without trying to set a time. We expect to see him return to the forefront, pushing Maverick Vinales, Jorge Lorenzo and others back one position. As for Iannone, it's another story, since the #29 knows that he has a serious chance of winning on Sunday and that he will do everything to ensure that his teammate does not do it for him...

In the meantime, we fortunately note the presence of Marc Marquez who returned from his medical examinations following his fall due to a mix-up with his teammate.

Halfway through the session, Andrea Dovizioso falls below the 1'24 mark while Marc Marquez, after skipping almost the entire FP3, already appears in 5th position, 7 tenths behind.

In the final minutes, Andrea Iannone made his attack but failed to be 6 hundredths behind his teammate before the latter hammered home the point by gaining a few more hundredths.

Valentino Rossi finished third, 3 tenths behind, ahead of Marc Marquez and the two Suzukis. (see ranking below)

Q1 : With the excellent match between the Ducati and the Red Bull Ring, several regulars in the Top 10 find themselves obliged to go through this repechage session. Above all, we think of Espargaro Pol, who currently occupies 6th place in the world championship.

The session begins with Jack Miller's second fall of the day.

Quickly, Danilo Petrucci takes the lead, in front Eugene Laverty and Cal Crutchlow.

The order reverses in the second run and Crutchlow as well as Petrucci obtain authorization to participate in Q2. (see ranking below)

Q2: From the outset, Andrea Dovizioso recorded an impressive 1'23.668 but that is not enough to contain Andrea Iannone (1'23.623) and Jorge Lorenzo (1'23.639). At least initially because number #04 recovers its property for 2 hundredths; 1'23.598!

Marc Marquez recovers a forward slide with his right elbow; the Honda driver is still spectacular!

At the end of the first run, we therefore find Dovizioso, Iannone, Lorenzo, Vinales, Marquez Crutchlow and Rossi at the forefront.

The final rush sees Lorenzo take the wheel Iannone but he doesn't intend to tow it. This did not bother the Majorcan who set off alone and recorded a 1'23.361 which gave him provisional pole position.

The two factory Ducatis then sounded the charge in the face of such an affront, especially since Valentino Rossi is even faster; 1'23.289!

In the end, it's the devil Iannone who topped everyone at the post in 1'23.142, offering with Rossi and Dovizioso a 100% Italian first line.
