After the presentation of the MotoGP team, Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales went to Jakarta to Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing, on the road to Sepang where the first tests of the year will soon begin. They were invited to the launch of the new R15 model, before heading to the Philippines where another public relations operation awaits them.
For Valentino, “ It was a short visit, but a great pleasure. The passion of the Indonesian fans and the interest of the media is always great to see and a good way to get motivated before the test in Sepang. I again felt very welcome in this fantastic country and I would like to thank Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing for organizing this trip. It was also great to see the riders Imanuel and Galang again who I had received during the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp. It's been a while since we last met and it's great to see that they are still very passionate about racing. It was a fantastic day and I hope to stay longer next time I come, but now I will have a few days off so I can relax and prepare for the Sepang test and for one last media event in the Philippines . »
According to Maverick, “ This event in Indonesia was really nice. I was surprised how polite people are here, they made us feel welcome and I am very grateful to them for that. The event was well organized and the photo session was also fun, so we enjoyed it a lot. Before coming here, I didn't realize how big the city of Jakarta was. I felt really happy here and we had a nice time, and especially today I had a lot of fun riding. I was there for the presentation of the all-new R15 and I drove it on the track. I really enjoyed the event and in the afternoon we went to a big press meeting which was fun too, we got a lot of gifts so I'm happy today. Now I will rest and train hard for the Sepang test. »
The R15 is the third version of the model created in 2008. According to initial information, it is a 155 cc single-cylinder 3-valve liquid-cooled engine, delivering 4 horsepower at 19 rpm.
