For several weeks, although denied by Ducati, the rumor of an offer from the Bologna manufacturer to the Yamaha rider has been circulating in the paddock. Jorge Lorenzo first denied it then admitted half-heartedly.

For two days, the rumor that the Majorcan pilot would have accepted this offer supposedly very attractive, is gaining momentum in the paddock. To the extent that this agreement is announced, black and white and without conditions, today in the Italian press.

IF this turns out to be correct, or when it turns out to be correct, the game of musical chairs could then begin, with, in all probability, the arrival of Maverick Vinales alongside Valentino Rossi.
To deal with this eventuality, Suzuki has already contacted Andrea Iannone, as confirmed yesterday by her agent Carlo Pernat.

The latter, more cautious, expressed himself on the site GPone: “iI spoke with Lorenzo yesterday, and the signing is not yet done, but I nevertheless saw him with a lit eye and he spoke to me very well, as much about Gigi Dall'Igna as about the motorcycle. IThere is, however, the problem of the team. Jorge is very close to Ramon Forcada and would like him take with him. The same request was made by Marquez who even wanted all his team. For Ducati, itis important to do sign and I think that for Audi too. His motivation is that if he won with the Italian house, he would have done something that  Rossi missed. And, at-beyond that, there is economic motivation which is also important. That said, Lorenzo has until Le Mans to sign with Yamaha (from many other sourcess speaks of Jerez, April 24, deadline).

The two riders most interested (in his replacement) are obviously Iannone and Vinales because both could ride a Yamaha, but the sponsor Movistar, who wants a Spaniard, is putting pressure on it to be Maverick.
This is why we are talking with Suzuki for Iannone as first rider.”

Wait and see ...
