The press conference held at the end of qualifying for the MotoGP German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring brought together Mark Máask, fabio quartararo, Maverick Vinales, Alex Marquez and Ayumu Sasaki.

As usual, we report here the raw words of Mark Máask, without the slightest journalistic interpretation.

Marc, a 10th successive pole here at the Sachsenring, a new record and your closest rivals in the championship absent from the front row. A great day and a 2-stop strategy during qualifying…

Marc Márquez : “yes, of course, I had pressure from the Yamaha riders, but anyway, I felt good since the first tire passed in qualifying. The 2nd run was the one where I felt the best and the time was also good, but I made a few small mistakes. Then the last run was the one where I felt the worst but I was able to be fast and get pole even though the main goal was to be on the front row. We have tried to prepare well for the race throughout the weekend but we are not yet sure what the best option for the tires will be because they provide different feelings and have different characters. We will try to analyze this now because I know that tomorrow during the race, these 2 guys will be fast and consistent. So we have to keep moving forward and we’ll see what happens.”

The good news is that Fabio and Maverick are not dangerous in the championship at the moment, but we are sure that will not stop you from trying to win…

“Yes, it’s true that the Yamaha riders are both in very good shape and riding very well. But Rins is also there, with a good rhythm. The good thing for me is that the closest guys in the championship, which are the 2 Ducati riders, are suffering a little bit, especially Dovi. So this is important and it's good for me (laughs), but anyway, I'm not thinking about the 10th victory in a row. I'm thinking about the championship. We'll see tomorrow and if for some reason the tire deteriorates or for some reason the grip on the track isn't the best, or if I don't have the feeling, it's better to take points and to be at the top of the championship than to win again here at the Sachsenring.

Are you worried about tomorrow's weather because there are rumors that it might rain tomorrow morning?

" I did not watch ".

Fabio took off this morning because he said he tried to go full throttle. Do you go full throttle at turn 11?

“(Laughs)”.

Have you ever tried ?

“He hasn’t fallen there yet (that’s why). But no. But it depends on how you work with electronics. But personally, I prefer to have it in my hand.”

You had the new chassis at your disposal this weekend. Did you use it to do your fast lap and will you use it in the race?

“Yes, we tried a new chassis. We had already tried it in Montmeló and it had potential. We tried it again here and the potential was there, but we still have to figure it out. It is true that with this chassis we can be even faster, but we do not know what will happen over the race distance. So we'll go back to the one we know because sometimes it's better to have something that's a little less good but you know the reactions to, rather than something new that you don't know. We need more information and we have made some comparisons here, but certainly the potential of the new chassis is there and we need to analyze it further.”

Since you're not going to use it here, what race are you going to use it in? Or are you sure it will be a great weekend for you here?

“Um… no (laughs). It depends on how you look at things. But we have worked more on the normal chassis, we have done more laps on the tires with the normal chassis and we know what is happening. We know the reactions of this chassis whereas with the new chassis there are positive things and negative things. And these negative things can sometimes cause a downfall. So you try to avoid these things. Yes, maybe with the new chassis I can be even faster, but I still don't feel safe enough to do 30 laps in a row. So it’s time to analyze in depth, but it’s more about security and our league position.”
