Having consolidated his 6th position in the world championship thanks to his 4th place acquired in the Netherlands, Pol Espargaro approaches this German Grand Prix with a certain confidence, before taking off for the 8 Hours of Suzuka.
In the meantime, the objective of the Tech3 pilot will therefore be to strengthen his position as the first satellite pilot, or even to try to grab the 7 points which separate him from Maverick Vinales in the world rankings.
Espargaro Pol: " As usual, I'm looking forward to racing this weekend and I'm confident that the team and I will do a good job in Germany. The track there is absolutely unique and when I ride there, it feels a bit like driving a MotoGP on a kart circuit! It's really narrow and twisty, and since there's no long straight line, we don't have much time to rest, and it's physically very demanding.
That said, we are optimistic because the nature of the Sachsenring suits the Yamaha well so I think we can attack to put in another solid performance. Either way, I think we might see some unexpected results, but I'll really try to be among those who put in a strong performance. We are prepared and ready, so I am sure that we will be able to conclude this first part of the season in a positive way before I fly to Japan to participate in the Suzuka 8 Hours for the Yamaha Factory Racing Team"
