Johann occupies sixth place in the provisional general classification after the first two thirds of the season. He has 109 points, compared with Pedrosa fifth who has 148, and Lorenzo seventh whose current total is 90.

On the banks of the Adriatic, Zarco will return to a Misano circuit where he has recorded good results in the past, such as second place in 125 in 2011 and a victory in Moto2 in 2015.

Based on his past results, his current ranking in the World Championship and his great races this year during his first season in MotoGP, Johann is aiming for a place in the top 5.

“I'm delighted to come and race at Misano because it's an interesting circuit. After visiting Austria and Silverstone, it will be a small track for MotoGP bikes.

“It will be very important to work effectively with the team to set up the bike and feel comfortable so we can have a positive race on Sunday.

“Of course the GP weekend won't be easy, but I hope to be consistent from start to finish.

“I like this circuit which I have good memories of in Moto2 and 125. Also, the weather can be quite hot and the circuit is right next to the Adriatic Sea.

“So overall I want to have a rewarding time and finish in the top five to get a lot of points for the championship. »
