After his withdrawals from Brno, Austria and Silverstone, Marcel Schrotter will not be able to participate in the San Marino Grand Prix due to his knee injury. Alex de Angelis will replace him this weekend within the Dynavolt Intact GP team, alongside Sandro Cortese.

De Angelis knows this Moto2 category well, in which he has won three Grands Prix, after having triumphed once in 250. He also has 7 podiums in Moto2, 25 in 250, 7 in 125 and 1 in MotoGP.

His best results in the World Championship were second place final in 125 in 2003 and third place in 2006 and 2007 in 250. In Moto2, he finished fourth in 2011 on Motobi.

It was Danny Kent who replaced Marcel schrotter at the Austrian GP, then Jake Dixon at Silverstone. Alex de Angelis started the season in the World Superbike Championship with the Pedercini team, but the two parted ways. Alex has already made a replacement in Moto2 GP as a substitute Xavier Simeon for the British GP.

For Alex de Angelis, “ I was very happy with the call and the request from Intact GP to be part of this excellent team and especially in my favorite category Moto2.

“When I rode in England, I already proved that I really deserved to come back to the Moto2 World Championship. I will do my best to give the team and Suter as much feedback on the bike as possible.

“Of course we don't have a specific goal, because it won't be easy to get a good result without testing the bike before the race. But this will be my second race in a row in the Moto2 category.

“I can only try to be better than my race at Silverstone. It's a very good opportunity to meet all my fans and sponsors and return to Misano, to one of my favorite tracks.

“I also hope that this will help me find a good solution for my future. A big thank you to the Intact GP team for this opportunity. »
