The leader of the Moto2 world championship Franco Morbidelli will be able to count on the support of the public this weekend. The driver of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS is indeed traveling to Misano for the San Marino Grand Prix.

Morbidely, first in the general classification with a lead of 29 points over Thomas Lüthi, lives less than twenty kilometers from the Marco Simoncelli international circuit in Misano. The Italian driver has a large number of supporters who have reserved a whole platform to encourage him this weekend.

The Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS driver has only one objective for his Grand Prix: to achieve his eighth victory of the season to celebrate with his public on Sunday afternoon.

However, everything will not be simple for Morbidely this week-end. Two pilots in particular dream of tripping the Italian in his garden.

The first is Tom Luthi, the Italian's closest rival in the standings, and the second is none other than Alex Marquez, the teammate of Morbidely within Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS. Third in the championship, the Spaniard also hopes to be able to make amends after his crash two weeks ago at the British Grand Prix while leading the race.

Franco Morbidelli:
« We are going to Misano and it will be very important to perform well in front of my home crowd. There will be a lot of people I know this weekend, and a special platform has even been reserved for my fans. That's why I really want to win on Sunday. A home race is always special. Not only because we can give a little something extra, but also because everyone expects that little something. I've been waiting for this weekend since January and I would really like to have a great race, at home, in Misano »

Alex Marquez:
« Silverstone was a great weekend until I crashed while leading the race. This was obviously not part of my plan. We are now going to Misano to return to a circuit where I have often struggled in the past. However, the situation is very different this season. I'm going to Italy with the aim of fighting at the front like I did last week at Silverstone. Since it is now practically impossible for me to win the championship, I don't have to worry about Franco Morbidelli or Tom Lüthi. I'm just going to give it my all and try to win as many races as possible, starting with this weekend's race in Misano. »
