After having to withdraw from Silverstone due to a violent fall during warm-up, the German driver of the Tech 3 team is ready to take his revenge on fate at the San Marino Grand Prix.

He is currently 32 points behind his teammate Johann Zarco in the provisional World Championship standings. He occupies ninth position, 2 points ahead of Danilo Petrucci, and 12 behind Cal Crutchlow as well as 13 behind Jorge Lorenzo.

For Misano, he has a bike from the right manufacturer, because Yamaha is the manufacturer that has established itself the most on this track since the return of MotoGP to the Italian circuit. The brand with tuning forks has six victories. The last one, dating from 2014, is to the credit of Valentino Rossi.

For the 2017 edition, Folger will have the possibility of using the new Yamaha aerodynamic device, with the fins inside the fairing, in accordance with the current regulations. On a circuit like Misano, this could be an advantage by adding downforce to the front, provided the bike is not penalized in the numerous changes of direction on the Italian track.

For Jonas, “Of course I'm looking forward to racing this weekend after the difficult time we went through at Silverstone, but I'm sure we'll have better luck in Italy.

“I have a lot of memories at Misano, including a Moto3 pole position and good results in the past.

“It's a track that I really like and maybe we will try some new aerodynamic equipment because I think we will have an advantage with the wings in Misano.

“I'm sure we'll have a better time than the last three races and I hope to finish the weekend with a lot of points. »
