For this final dress rehearsal, the Moto2 protagonists were picked up cold when they woke up on the banks of the Adriatic. The fault was a rain which completely changed the appearance of a Misano route, for the first time approached with a soggy bitumen. And cooled to a little over 18°. The previous two days of competition were just a memory. Everything had to be redone.

To remember what the situation was before this Sunday, here is a reminder of the facts in table.

At 32 years, Pasini had signed his fourth pole position in a row this season the day before. But the track that awaited him this morning was very different from the one that allowed him to achieve this great performance. If the downpour had stopped, it left behind a wet track strewn with debris from the Moto3 battle that had barely ended and was particularly painful because it was marked by numerous falls.

Despite this warning, Lüthi fell at turn 4, fortunately without seriousness. Courses also got into it at turn 1 and Alex De Angelis at turn 6. So many experienced drivers. The irony was that at this stage of the exercise, it was the Swiss Lüthi who leads the bats in 1'57.769.

Gardner et Olive tree took over from the driver of a CarXpert team which will ride KTM in 2018.  Pasini had a scare at turn 15. Baldassari was in the lead while Virgin fell at turn 4. Joe Roberts surprised with the second beat and Alex DeAngelis had his second morning accident, but at turn 1 this time.

Isaac Viñales et Edgar Pons also fell into this turn one, a few seconds apart.

Enough to worry about the grip of the track for the rest of the events in these conditions. As many adventures as Gardner avoided to take the lead with a time of 1'56.002 on his Mistral 610. This before falling at turn 8! Syahrin wrote his name on this long list of casualties joined by Axel Pons at turn 16 and NAVARRO at turn 1.

bagnaia closed this massacre at turn 4. The exercise amounted to Baldassarri in 1'54.372 ahead Roberts et Marini. Quarterly was eighteenth.
