For the inaugural test session of the last third of the season, the air temperature was 19° and that of the track 18°. The circuit was slightly damp due to an overnight downpour. The first drivers to start did so on wet tires, except Philipp Oettl who started directly on slicks.

Joan Mir took command in 1'56.1. Most of the drivers returned to the pits to put on slick tires, while Bezzecchi accelerated in 1'54.9, then Mir in 1'54.5. Jules Danilo was fourth in 1'55.7. Mir passed in 1'54.0. Due to the tricky conditions, only 24 drivers had driven with 23 minutes remaining.

Mir accelerated 4 minutes from the end, in 1'47.9. Ramirez overtook him in 1'47.8. Canet improved to 1'47.5, while his teammate Enea Bastianini fell without seriousness in turn 8.
Finally, Aron Canet was credited with the best time in 1'46.518 ahead of Romano Fenati, Joan Mir and Marcos Ramirez. Jules Danilo was eighteenth at 2.4.
